Wilbert Gahagan

Wilbert Gahagan is a seasoned culinary professional currently serving as Director at the University of Montana since May 2023. Prior to this role, Gahagan held various positions at 1889, transitioning from Executive Chef from April 2021 to May 2023 to Chef De Cuisine at 1889 Steak and Seafood from June 2019 to April 2021. Earlier experience includes working as a Line Cook at Burns St. Bistro and an Executive Chef at Ranches at Belt Creek. Gahagan also served as Executive Chef at White Buffalo Club from 2008 to 2016 and held the position of Chef at Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis for a brief period in 2008. The culinary journey began after earning an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts/Chef Training from the California Culinary Academy in 2004, along with initial experience as a Line Cook at Snake River Lodge & Spa.
