Daniel Wheaton

Part-time Alumni Speech Coach at University of Nebraska

Daniel Wheaton is an experienced journalist currently serving as a Midwest Newsroom Data Journalist at Nebraska Public Media since February 2021, focusing on investigative reporting in collaboration with NPR member stations. In addition to this role, Daniel is a part-time alumni speech coach and lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where advanced courses in visual communication are taught. Previous experience includes working as a graphics and data reporter at The San Diego Union-Tribune, where Daniel hosted a daily news podcast, and as a data reporting fellow at the Omaha World-Herald, among other roles in journalism and media. Daniel holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and is pursuing a Master's degree in Geographic Information Science and Cartography at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
