Scott McVey currently serves as the Director and Associate Dean at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since July 2020. Prior to this role, McVey was a Research Leader at USDA ARS from January 2011 to July 2020, focusing on research related to arthropod-borne animal diseases. McVey also held the position of Professor and Laboratory Director at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln from April 2006 to January 2011, overseeing the Nebraska Veterinary Diagnostic Center and teaching courses in Veterinary Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. Earlier in McVey's career, a tenure as Scientist/Associate Director at Pfizer involved work in biologicals and vaccine development, as well as laboratory medicine. McVey earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Veterinary Microbiology and Immunobiology from Texas A&M University and holds a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
