Monica Maccaux has a diverse range of work experience in graphic design and academia. Monica is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Graphic Design Program at the University of Nevada, Reno, where they manage the program, conducts creative research, and focuses on typeface design and client work. Prior to this role, Monica was an Assistant Professor and Director of the Graphic Design Program at the same university.

Monica Maccaux has a strong educational background in design and graphic arts. Monica earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Design from Pratt Institute in 2004. Monica furthered their education by completing an Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Otis College of Art and Design in 2012. Additionally, Monica attended a summer program at Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in 2001, where they studied QuarkXpress and Photography 101. Monica has also obtained additional certifications, including a PADI Open Water Diving Certification in 2018 and an Effective Teaching Practices certification from ACUE (Association of College and University Educators) in 2017.
