Catherine Gihlstorf

Catherine Gihlstorf has a diverse work experience. Catherine currently holds the position of Senior Associate Director for Operations at the Center for Faculty Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a role they started in August 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Academic Alliance Manager at Celonis from June 2022 to March 2023. From January 2020 to June 2022, Catherine served as the Associate Director for MPH@UNC at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Before their tenure at Celonis and the University of North Carolina, Catherine worked at SAS for a significant period. From June 2014 to August 2019, they held the position of Senior Manager for Education Partnerships. Before that, they served as a Senior Academic Program Manager from March 2013 to May 2014 and as an Academic Program Manager from July 2005 to March 2013.

Catherine's earlier career also includes working as a Program Director at the Center for Innovation in Learning at the Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC Chapel Hill, from 1995 to 2005. Catherine began their professional journey as a Health Volunteer and Technical Trainer for the Peace Corps from 1989 to 1991.

Catherine Gihlstorf is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Leadership and Learning in Organizations at Vanderbilt University, expected to be completed in 2025. Catherine holds a Master's Degree in Instructional Design from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Catherine also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-Television-Film and a second Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies, both from Northwestern University. Additionally, their education history includes attending Phillips Academy.
