Robert P. Bryan III is currently a Trustee at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to this, they served as a Member of the Board of Governors for the University of North Carolina from June 2017 to October 2019, where they were Vice-Chair for Education Planning and Policy and Chairman of the Workgroup on Online Education and the Strategic Initiatives. Robert also served as Chief Development Officer for Cardinal Innovations Healthcare from September 2016 to May 2019. Senator for the North Carolina General Assembly from October 2019 to December 2020, where they were Vice-Chair for Education Planning and Policy and Chairman of the Workgroup on Online Education and the Strategic Initiatives. Prior to this, they served as Representative for District 88 in the North Carolina General Assembly from January 2013 to December 2016, where they chaired the Education Appropriations and House Judiciary Committees. Bryan began their career as a Partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP from April 2006 to September 2016. Robert also served as a Bilingual Elementary Teacher with Teach For America from June 1993 to June 1995.
