Philip Vierling

Vierling has more than 35 years of experience in the medical device and medical healthcare field, beginning in sales and marketing to serving as president and CEO of several medical device companies. His expertise ranges from management and leadership, domestic and international markets, and entrepreneurial start-ups, to private-equity corporate structures. While CEO of Empi, revenues grew from $65 million to over $140 million. Since the sale of Empi, Vierling has been involved as CEO in three start-up ventures: Kalypto Medical, Liver Cell Technologies, and currently SubioMed Inc.

Vierling has served in the local church as an elder, small group leader, and mission chairman. In addition to having served on several non-profit boards, Vierling is current chairman of the board for Josiah Venture, an Eastern and Central European ministry dedicated to evangelism and discipleship among youth. His dedication to developing the next generation of leaders has included annual trips to Eastern Europe and assisting country leaders in Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Czech, and Slovakia.

Vierling earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Greek from Covenant College, and his M.B.A. from the University of South Florida. He and his wife, Becky, have three children and four grandsons. They are active members at Five Oaks Church in Woodbury, Minnesota. They live on a hobby farm with goats, llamas, and chickens, enjoying the opportunity to share this experience with friends and guests.
