Étienne Trépanier

Étienne Trépanier is a seasoned professional in legal knowledge mobilization and multimedia advocacy, currently serving as the Director of Pedagogical Innovation and Legal Knowledge Mobilization at the University of Ottawa since January 2021. In this role, Étienne leads the Jurivision.ca initiative, an audiovisual platform aimed at enhancing the accessibility of legal knowledge. Simultaneously, Étienne contributes as a part-time professor, developing an experiential course on "Visual Advocacy and Film Law." Additional experience includes directing content for Jurivision.ca, producing multimedia educational products through Tenor Films, and co-founding Destidocs, which focuses on innovative travel documentaries. Prior roles include legal counsel for the Department of Justice Canada, where Étienne provided strategic legal advice, and a fellow at the Osgoode Hall Law School's Fund for Innovation in Law and Media (FILM) Initiative. Étienne holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa and a Certificate in Entertainment Law from York University.
