Marijke Taks

Marijke Taks is an accomplished academic and leader in the field of sport management, currently serving as Associate Vice-Provost of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and Vice-Dean of Research at the University of Ottawa since July 2020. Taks has been a professor in the School of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa since August 2016, specializing in sport management, sport governance, and the socio-economic aspects of sport. Additionally, Taks has held a part-time position as Deeltijds Hoofddocent at KU Leuven since 2001 and previously served as a professor at the University of Windsor from July 2001 to July 2016. Taks has also contributed to the field through editorial work with the European Sport Management Quarterly from 2009 to 2011. Taks earned a PhD in Physical Education with a focus on Sport Management from KU Leuven, Belgium, between 1981 and 1994.
