Jared Garthwait

Jared Garthwait works as an Undergraduate Research/Senior Research Project at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on determining the effect of heat treatment temperature on densification of silicon carbide ceramics. Jared also conducted studies on metal nanoparticle additives in pre-ceramic polymer. Previously, Jared held an Engineering Intern position at Lincoln Electric, where Jared created a testing method to assess the impact of alumina ceramic contamination on weld properties. Jared is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science & Engineering.
