Chinyere Oparah

Provost & VP, Academic Affairs at University of San Francisco

A native of Nigeria, Chinyere Oparah is currently the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at the University of San Francisco. Chinyere has previously served as Associate Provost at Mills College and Lecturer at UC Santa Cruz and UC Berkeley. In their role as Executive Director at Sia: The National Development Agency for the Black Voluntary Sector, they worked to increase opportunities for black people in the UK.

Oparah has a Ph.D. in African American Studies from UC Berkeley. Chinyere is a Fulbright Scholar and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Chinyere Oparah has a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Warwick, as well as Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Modern and Medieval Languages from the University of Cambridge. Chinyere also has a Master's degree in Race and Ethnic Relations from the University of Warwick.
