Shabnam Koirala-Azad

Shabnam Koirala-Azad is the current Dean of the School of Education at University of San Francisco. Shabnam has been in this role since July 2017, and was Interim Dean from January 2017 to July 2017. Prior to that, they served as Associate Dean & Associate Professor from January 2005 to December 2016.

Shabnam Koirala-Azad holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Studies in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Psychology and Education from Mount Holyoke College.

Shabnam Koirala-Azad reports to Chinyere Oparah, Provost and Vice President, Academic Affairs. They are on a team with Shannon Gary - Associate Vice Provost and Dean of Students, Susan Freiwald - Dean, School of Law, and Shawn Calhoun - Acting Dean, University Library.
