Tharwat al-Olaimi

Tharwat Al-Olaimi is an experienced librarian with a strong background in cataloging and library management. Currently serving as a Co-Opted Member of the MENA Region Committee at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) since August 2023, Tharwat has held the position of Senior Cataloging Librarian at the University of Sharjah since June 2015, specializing in MARC 21 cataloging and Library of Congress classification. Previous roles include Arabic & Islamic Studies Cataloging Librarian at the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai, Cataloger for the private collection of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Senior Cataloger at the Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and Heritage, and Reference Librarian at the General Authority for Educational Buildings. Tharwat holds a Postgraduate degree in Information Science and a Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science from Helwan University.
