Peter Thorvald

Peter Thorvald is a Professor at The University of Skövde, where roles include Associate Professor, Head of the Division of Product Development, and Senior Lecturer. Since joining in August 2007, Peter has focused on teaching, research, and supervising research students. Previous experience includes serving as Deputy Head of Department and conducting PhD-level research in information design, particularly within the context of automotive assembly. Prior to their academic career, Peter worked at Volvo Powertrain as an assembly worker from March 2000 to August 2007, where experience in assembling heavy diesel engines informed current research interests. Peter also held a position as a Work Shop Technician at Paroc from June 1999 to February 2000. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University (2008-2011) and an MSc in Cognitive Science from the University of Skövde (2002-2006).
