Alex Kovalenko

Alex Kovalenko has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Alex is currently working as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the University of South Australia since November 2023. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Manager in Technology - Cyber Security & Risk at Beyond Bank Australia from August 2021 to November 2023. Before that, Alex held the position of Senior Consultant - Governance, Risk and Compliance at CyberCX from September 2017 to August 2021.

Earlier in their career, Alex worked at Adelaide Airport Limited, where they served as an Information Security Manager from February 2015 to September 2017, a Network Systems Security Engineer from December 2005 to February 2015, and a Network Systems Specialist from January 2005 to December 2005. Alex also worked as a Systems/Network Engineer at Harris Scarfe Australia Pty Ltd from September 2002 to December 2004 and as a Systems Administrator/Network Security Coordinator at Wanted World Wide Australia from April 2000 to September 2002. Alex began their career as a System Engineer at Accede Business Systems from April 1998 to April 2000.

Alex Kovalenko has a Master of Cyber Security Operations from the University of New South Wales, Canberra, which was obtained between 2016 and 2019. Additionally, Alex holds a Diploma of Management from Insight International, Adelaide, completed in 2010.
