Allen Madison has extensive experience in legal education and practice, focusing primarily on tax law. Currently serving as a Professor of Law at The University of South Dakota since July 2012, Allen Madison teaches a variety of tax-related courses, having previously held positions as an Associate and Assistant Professor at the same institution. Prior teaching roles include visiting professorships at the University of Wyoming and the University of Idaho, as well as international experience at Universidad de Navarra. Allen Madison's legal practice includes significant roles as an Attorney Leader at The Dow Chemical Company, an Attorney at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel, and litigation at Fenwick & West, in addition to a judicial role at the United States Tax Court. Academic qualifications include an LL.M in Tax Law and Securities Regulation from Georgetown University Law Center and a JD from Hofstra University, complemented by an MBA and dual BA degrees in Psychology and Marketing from Michigan State University.
