Somnath Chaudhuri

Somnath Chaudhuri is a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton since February 2024, focusing on high-resolution geospatial data related to population distributions and demographics through WorldPop. Currently, Somnath also contributes as a researcher at the Grup de Recerca en Estadística, Econometria i Salut (GRECS) and the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red CIBER, engaging in epidemiological research trends such as motoneuron disease and COVID-19. Somnath has previously held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Research Scholar at Universidad de Girona, along with various positions in the Erasmus Mundus Association serving as both Program and Country Representative for India. Somnath's educational background includes a PhD in Spatial Statistics from Universitat de Girona and multiple degrees in technology and science from the University of Calcutta.
