Dr. Erroll G. Southers

Dr. Erroll G. Southers serves as the Associate Senior Vice President for Safety & Risk Assurance at the University of Southern California, where responsibilities include strategic oversight of various safety departments. In addition to this role, Dr. Southers is a Professor of the Practice in National & Homeland Security and directs both the Safe Communities Institute and Homegrown Violent Extremism Studies. With extensive experience in counter-terrorism and security, roles have included Managing Director at TAL Global Corporation, Advisor at Avata Intelligence, and former positions with Los Angeles World Airports and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security. Dr. Southers has also contributed as an Adjunct Staff member at the RAND Corporation and has a strong academic background with degrees from Brown University and the University of Southern California, culminating in a Doctorate in Policy, Planning, and Development.
