Stuart Fancey

Stuart Fancey is the University Secretary at the University of Strathclyde. Stuart has held this position since December 2018. Prior to that, they were a Non Executive Board Member at Scottish Enterprise from January 2017 to December 2018. From November 2015 to March 2016, they served as the Director of Research and Innovation (Interim) at the Scottish Funding Council. Stuart was the Assistant Director of Research and Innovation at the Scottish Funding Council from May 2009 to November 2015. From May 2005 to May 2009, they served as Senior Policy Officer at the Scottish Funding Council. From September 2002 to May 2005, they were General Manager, Devices at Helia Photonics Ltd. From September 2000 to September 2002, they were a Marie Curie Fellow at FernUniversität in Hagen. From January 1996 to December 2000, they were a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at Heriot-Watt University.

Stuart Fancey holds a PhD in Physics from Heriot-Watt University, an MSc in Optoelectronics and Laser Devices from Heriot-Watt University, and a BSc (Hons) in Physics from the University of St Andrews.
