Brian Bates

Brian Bates is a seasoned academic and researcher currently serving as a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the University of Sussex since 2006, where Brian specializes in the psychology of applied imagination and Shamanic Consciousness. Previously, Brian held the position of Chairman of Psychology at the University of Sussex from 1990 to 1992 and worked as a Psychologist in Residence and theatre director at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art from 1980 to 1990. Brian's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, a PhD in Psychology from the University of Oregon, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Experimental Psychology at the University of Cambridge.
