Serena Mitchell

Serena Mitchell is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in higher education and public sector communications. Currently serving as Communications Manager for the Business School at the University of Sussex since February 2017, Serena develops strategic communications to enhance the school's reputation in entrepreneurship, sustainability, and innovation. Serena previously held the role of Alumni Relations Partner at the same institution, focusing on the growth of the alumni program. Prior to joining the University of Sussex, Serena worked at HM Revenue & Customs as a Communications Business Partner, and served as Head of Media Relations at The Pensions Regulator. Serena's early career includes managing an information service for disabled individuals and teaching Business English at Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. Education credentials include a BA Hons in International Relations from the University of Sussex, a Post Graduate degree in Public Communication from Leeds Trinity University, and a Certificate in Drama from the University of Sussex.
