Dimitrios Skoutas

Assistant Professor (tenured) at University of the Aegean

Dimitrios Skoutas is an Assistant Professor (Tenured) at the University of the Aegean, where research focuses on enhancing resource management in mobile and IoT communication networks to improve coverage and quality of service in rural and island areas. Previously, as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, Dimitrios concentrated on cooperative transmission strategies in 4G/5G environments and developed IoT systems using mobile edge computing and unmanned aerial vehicles. Additional experience includes roles as a Research Fellow in various projects related to network communications and as an Adjunct Lecturer, teaching a range of subjects in Information and Communication Systems Engineering. Dimitrios served as a Technical Assistant - Forward Observer in the Greek Army prior to academic endeavors and holds a PhD in Communication Networks from the University of the Aegean and a Dipl.-Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras.
