Fernando B. Garcia Jr.

Fernando B. Garcia Jr. currently serves as the Dean of the College of Public Health at UP Manila and the Centre Director for SEAMEO TROPMED Philippines since July 2022. In addition to these roles, Fernando B. Garcia Jr. has been a Professor at the University of the Philippines Manila since January 2021 and previously held positions as Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the College of Public Health from May 2008 to December 2020. Fernando B. Garcia Jr. also served as the Department Chair for the Department of Health Policy and Administration within the College of Public Health from July 2016 to June 2019. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health - Health Economics from Queensland University of Technology (2012 - 2017), a Master’s degree in Public Administration with a focus on Geographic Information Systems from the University of the Philippines (2002 - 2006), and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of the Philippines (1993 - 1997).
