Lisa Grace S. Bersales

Lisa Bersales is the Executive Director at the Commission on Population and Development since January 2023. With a career spanning over two decades at the University of the Philippines, Lisa has held various positions including Professor Emeritus in Statistics, Vice President for Planning and Finance, and several committee roles focused on curriculum and admissions. Additionally, Lisa is an active member of several statistical organizations, including the International Statistical Institute and the Philippine Statistical Association, and has served as President of Open Data Watch and Vice Chair of the Regional Steering Group for the Asian Pacific Decade on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics until April 2023. Lisa holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Statistics from the University of the Philippines, earned between 1981 and 1989.
