Elected to the Board by the self-perpetuating board in February 2012 and re-elected in October 2017. Term expires in March 2024. Born in New York. Educated at UVM, BA, 1983; and MBA, New York University. Rob Brennan is a Principal of Greenbacker Capital Management (GCM) and serves as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors. GCM is an investment management platform that acquires and manages sustainable infrastructure projects on behalf of retail and institutional shareholders. Prior to GCM, Rob was a Senior Managing Director at Guggenheim Partners, and Head of the Guggenheim Commercial Real Estate Finance Group. Before working at Guggenheim, Rob was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse, where he ran the Global Commercial Real Estate Finance Business. Rob joined Credit Suisse in 2000 as a result of Credit Suisse’s acquisition of Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ) where he was a Managing Director and ran the Commercial Mortgage Trading Business. Prior to DLJ, Rob held senior positions at UBS, LF Rothschild and began his career in Investment Banking at EF Hutton in 1983. Currently, Rob serves on the Board of Directors of the Commercial Real Estate Finance Council. Rob is a board member of Student Sponsor Partners (SSP). For over 30 years, SSP’s uniquely integrated program has provided over 7,000 NYC low-income students with a quality private high school education and one-to-one mentoring support. Rob is a member of the Founders Council of San Miguel Academy of Newburgh, a tuition-free middle school for underserved families residing in the City of Newburgh, NY. Rob also serves on the Board of the University of Vermont Foundation. He is married to Carolyn (UVM, 1982) and resides in Pleasantville, New York. Rob and Carolyn have three children: Robbie, Katherine and Corey.
