Leighton Joskey has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Leighton started their career as a Senior Analyst Programmer at SAFEWAY STORES (now Morrison's) in 1995, where they worked on business, web, and database systems. Leighton then joined MXMG as a Senior Programmer in 2000 before transitioning to the University of Warwick as a Senior Analyst Developer in 2002. At the University of Warwick, Leighton worked on business, web, and database systems and was responsible for application development and support. Leighton later took on the role of IT service analyst (ITSA), where they served as part process review expert, change agent, business analyst, and relationship manager. In 2014, they became the HR System Manager and was later promoted to Change Lead, where they played a key role in implementing change management strategies to maximize employee adoption and usage of new technology at the university. Since 2017, Leighton has held the position of Head of SAP and Finance Systems at the University of Warwick, overseeing a wide range of responsibilities related to SAP administration, helpdesk, training, development, support, and business analysis. Additionally, Leighton is actively involved in the UK & Ireland SAP User Group as the Higher Education & Research Special Interest Group Chair. Leighton also co-founded ashmorevisuals, a photography company specializing in wedding, theatre, sport, and event photography from 2009 to 2017.

Leighton Joskey earned a BA in Politics from the University of Warwick between 1991 and 1994. Prior to their university studies, Leighton attended Wells Blue School from 1984 to 1991, but no degree or field of study was specified. Leighton also obtained a certification in Design Thinking: Lead Change in Your Organization from Lynda.com in May 2016.
