McKane Andrus

McKane Andrus is a PhD student researcher at the University of Washington since September 2022, with an extensive background in AI and machine learning research. Previous roles include Senior Research Associate at Partnership on AI from January 2020 to August 2022 and Report Contractor at the AI Now Institute in late 2019. McKane also served as a Graduate Student Researcher at Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research, where algorithms for human model generation were developed, and as an Undergraduate Researcher at the Center for Human-Compatible AI, focusing on mechanism design and applications of justice in AI/ML. Additional experience includes various roles at Berkeley Student Cooperative and teaching programming concepts to youth at Connected Camps. McKane holds a Master's degree in EECS and dual Bachelor's degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Computer Science, all from the University of California, Berkeley.
