Miranda van Tilburg serves as the inaugural Associate Dean for Research at Methodist University Cape Fear Valley Health School of Medicine since September 2024. Concurrently, in various academic roles, Miranda holds positions as Adjunct Professor at Campbell University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and serves as Research Director at Cape Fear Valley Health. An Affiliate Professor of Social Work at the University of Washington, Miranda has an extensive background in medicine, including a tenure as Professor of Medicine and Vice Chair of Research at Marshall University. Previous experiences include professorships and adjunct positions at Campbell University, Walden University, and the University of North Carolina, along with a postdoctoral fellowship at Duke University focusing on the psychological aspects of blood glucose regulation. Miranda obtained both an MA and PhD in Behavioral Medicine and Behavioral Economics from Tilburg University.
