Tommy Zhang is currently a Hardware Engineer Intern at Microsoft since June 2024 and a Planning and Controls Research Assistant at the University of Washington since September 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Robotic Arm Design and Test Engineer, Robotic Arm Team Lead, and member of the Business Relations Team at Husky Robotics from January 2020 to the present. Tommy also worked as an Integration and Test Intern at SpaceX from June 2023 to September 2023, supporting assembly for Starlink satellites in collaboration with various engineering teams. Additionally, Tommy served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington's SMARTS Lab from March 2022 to June 2023, developing a statistical modeling application for TE Connectivity using Python, C#, SQL, and the Flask API. Tommy Zhang is pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington and holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering: Data Science from the University of Washington College of Engineering. Prior education includes a Running Start program at Bellevue College from 2017 to 2019.
