Christof Stahel is a highly experienced economist currently serving as a Senior Economic Advisor and Senior Economist in the Research Department at the Investment Company Institute since July 2018. Additionally, Christof holds the position of Pro Bono Mentor for Master Students at the University of Zurich since September 2022. Previously, Christof served as Vice Chair of the IOSCO Committee on Emerging Risks and held various roles at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, including Assistant Director and Financial Economist in the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis. Furthermore, Christof has academic experience as an Assistant Professor of Finance at George Mason University and has contributed to research at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Christof earned a PhD in Finance and an MA in Economics from The Ohio State University, along with a Master's degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from the University of Zurich.
