Richard Tanner

Richard Tanner is a Board Certified General Surgeon at University Surgical Associates since September 2022, specializing in gallbladder surgery, complex hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery, colon surgery, and breast surgery, with a focus on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques. In addition to clinical practice, Richard Tanner serves as a Clinical Instructor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center College of Medicine - Chattanooga, where the aim is to train surgery residents to achieve high levels of competency. Richard Tanner earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee-Health Science Center College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi.
