Hugh Boyle

Hugh Boyle is the current CEO & CFO at Unmortgage. Hugh has previously worked as the International Division CFO / Finance Director at MBIA from 2007 to 2017. In this role, they were responsible for leading the UK/International finance function with staff located in London, Paris and Madrid. Hugh also oversaw external outsourced finance providers in Milan, Tokyo and Sydney. Boyle was responsible for ensuring effective management of financial and management reporting (UK and US GAAP), regulatory reporting (Solvency 2 and investment management, individual and group solvency), tax, treasury, capital management, business planning and accounting policy. In addition, they managed local UK HR, IT and facilities functions and liaised with IT, HR, Treasury and Legal functions which are mainly based in US.

During their time at MBIA, Boyle developed and implemented enhanced management and Board level financial reporting, improved processes and controls, achieved expense and efficiency savings, indirect and corporate tax mitigation and tax planning strategies. Hugh also partnered with new business team to develop and implement new non-insurance/ advisory services and products. Hugh served as a Board member of other MBIA non-regulated group companies including the UK services company. Boyle was approved by PRA and FCA (CF1) for 2 investment management entities, Trifinium Advisors (UK) Limited and VNBR Advisors Limited from 2011 to 2013. Hugh represented MBIA as shareholder director on the board of MBIA investee entities in the infrastructure sector including providing advice to the projects and monitoring, reporting and resolving issues as they arose.

Hugh Boyle would have completed a BA Hons in Accounting and Finance at Dublin City University, achieving a 2:1. Prior to this they would have completed the Irish leaving certificate at St Eunans College, gaining 8 honours.
