John Dunne

Global Chief Of Security at UNOPS

John Dunne currently serves as the Global Chief of Security at UNOPS since December 2022. Prior to this role, Dunne spent over 17 years at the United Nations, holding various positions including Regional Security Coordinator for Southern Africa and Senior Security Analyst with a focus on terrorism in East Africa and South Asia/South East Asia. Dunne has extensive experience in security analysis and management, demonstrated through roles as Chief of Security Information and Operations during the first South Sudan civil war and Security Analyst focusing on crime and terrorism. Earlier experience includes positions at the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, featuring diplomatic roles, election observation, and managing political and security analysis. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Lancaster University.
