Irene Jurado

Irene Jurado is an experienced professional in strategic project management and education reform, currently serving as the Head of the Strategic Project Management Office and Regional MADAD Programme Manager for Lebanon and Jordan at UNRWA since March 2019. Previously, Irene held positions as a TVET Consultant at UNICEF, where support was provided for a project in Libya, and as a Senior Project Officer at UNESCO, leading a significant EU-funded TVET Reform Programme in Iraq. Irene's early career includes roles such as EU Education Project Manager and Education Programme Support Officer at UNRWA, and Programme Manager at ACSUR-Las Segovias, focusing on peacebuilding and youth civil society. Irene's academic background includes an MSc in International Development from the University of Bath and various degrees in related fields from prominent institutions in Spain and the Netherlands.
