Monty King

Monty is a learning designer and education researcher with a background in higher education academic support and partnership management. Online courses he has designed have won a range of plaudits, including the Samsung ‘Not a School’ series, which won the 2021 Global Good Award for education (large organization) and a 2020 Digital Education Award. His published research is centred on online learning in the global South and his PhD thesis investigated the experiences of learners in Timor-Leste using massive open online courses (MOOCs) and other digital education formats. His research has been published in The Journal of Studies in International Education, Learning, Media and Technology, The International Review of Research in Online and Distributed Learning, and Open Praxis.
