Gar Atchison

Gar Atchison has extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Gar began their career as the CEO at Hickory Orthopaedic Center from 2006 to 2011. Gar then moved on to Frye Regional Medical Center, where they served as the Vice President of Business Development in 2012, followed by Chief Operating Officer from 2013 to 2016, and finally as the CEO until 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Executive Officer and Market President at UP Health System - Marquette since November 2019.

Gar Atchison obtained a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management from the University of North Dakota, where they studied from 1984 to 1988. Prior to that, they attended Petoskey High School and completed their secondary education in 1984. Gar later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Lake Superior State University, although the specific duration of their studies is unknown.
