Gretchen Altman's work experience begins in 2005 as an intern at Town Point Club. In 2006, they worked as a Snack Bar Manager at Hunting Hills Country Club. In 2007, they became an Associate Trainer at Panera Bread. From 2008 to 2009, they worked as an Assistant Manager of Ideal Services at Omni William Penn Hotel. In 2009, they joined Westinghouse Electric Company, Inc as an Administrative Assistant until 2012. Since 2012, they have been working at Updater, starting as an Operations Consultant and later becoming an Operations Manager and Product Manager. In 2017, they were promoted to Sr. Product Manager at Updater.

Gretchen Altman's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business, which they obtained from 2003 to 2008.
