Hans Evert

Editor-in-Chief at upday

Hans Evert has a diverse work experience in the field of journalism and content management. Hans started their career as a Business Desk Editor at WeltN24 GmbH, where they focused on editing and planning for the business pages of national newspapers, WELT and WELT AM SONNTAG. Hans then worked as a Business Reporter for various publications, covering business-related stories in Berlin and Germany.

In 2013, Hans joined Axel Springer SE as a Managing Editor, where they created and managed the highly acclaimed storytelling app, Epos. Hans was responsible for the vision, strategy, budget, and product development of the digital magazine.

Hans later returned to WeltN24 GmbH in 2015, taking on the role of Managing Editor and Product Owner for the news app KOMPAKT. In this hybrid role, they led the editorial team while also overseeing product management and strategy.

Currently, Hans is serving as the Editor-in-Chief for upday for Samsung. Hans plays a pivotal role in conceptualizing and managing news and content production across app, web, and social media for Europe's biggest news app. Additionally, they have built and managed a 24/7 news service for a major third-party client.

Throughout their career, Hans has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a commitment to delivering high-quality content. Hans has received recognition and awards for their innovative and immersive storytelling approaches.

Hans Evert completed their Master of Business Administration - MBA/Diplom degree in Wirtschaftswissenschaften from Freie Universität Berlin, which took place from 1994 to 2001. In 2003 to 2004, they attended Journalistenschule Axel Springer to earn the Redakteur degree. Additionally, in 2015, Hans obtained a certification as a Product Owner from Scrum Alliance.
