Are you passionate about exploring food ingredients? Would you like to unravel the complex structure of liquids and analyze the crystallization habits of plant-based margarines? 

Location: Wageningen, Netherlands

Start date: September 2024 (6 months)

About The Position

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated R&D intern to join our Liquids team. For this role, you will unravel the complex structure of liquid margarine to develop our plant-based products. You will conduct scientific reviews on crystallization habits, structure formation, as well as on deformation, breakdown, and structure recovery of liquid margarine. Futhermore, you will be involved in laboratory experiments and pilot plant productions to gather critical data and conclude your learnings and insights in a report. To substantiate findings, you will also connect the insights from different teams and experts within the R&D community.

So what does it take to be successful in this role?

  • You are currently enrolled as a Master’s student in the Netherlands, preferably majoring in Food Technology.
  • You possess relevant knowledge of ingredients functionality, food structuring, food chemistry and/or food physics.
  • You are proficient in English and familiar with using Ms. Office.
  • You preferably have experience working in the laboratory and/or small-scale pilot plant.
  • You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and are ready to take charge on your own project.
