Ronnie Screwvala is a prominent entrepreneur and philanthropist with extensive experience across various sectors. As the Chairperson and Co-Founder of upGrad.com since March 2015, Ronnie has played a pivotal role in establishing the company as India’s largest online higher education platform, impacting over 363,000 individuals globally. In 2004, Ronnie founded Swades Foundation, focusing on empowering a million people out of poverty through initiatives in water, sanitation, health, education, and livelihood opportunities in Maharashtra. Additionally, as the founder of Unilazer Ventures since 2012, Ronnie has engaged in venture capital and private equity, investing in diverse sectors including e-commerce, AI, and housing finance. Previously, Ronnie founded UTV, a significant media conglomerate, which produced over 70 films and established a broadcast network, ultimately leading to its acquisition by Disney in 2012. Ronnie holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics.
