Mikko Hankamäki

Mikko Hankamäki is a Senior Manager in Business Control for the Biofuels Growth Programme at UPM, bringing extensive experience in risk management, performance analysis, and budgeting within the wood sourcing and forestry sectors. Since joining UPM in March 2017, significant achievements include implementing end-product based cost analyses, enhancing risk management processes, and developing forecasting models for the private wood market. Prior to UPM, Mikko served as a Senior Specialist at Enics, focusing on operational modeling and supply chain performance improvement, and held roles in marketing and communications at KONE. Mikko’s academic background includes a PhD in Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, alongside multiple degrees in political science and industrial engineering from various universities.
