David Garrick

A telecommunications executive for more than 30 years, David brings a wealth of experience to the UPSTACK advisory team. Most recently, David and Frank Ferdowsian, another UPSTACK advisor, served at the helm of idea! Communications Group Inc., a firm they co-founded in 2002.

Long before they were partners, David and Frank worked together selling major accounts at Qwest (now Lumen). In the aftermath of Qwest’s in-region spinoff to Touch America, the pair found themselves without jobs. The situation was a blessing in disguise for the two sales pros, and they discussed starting a company together. After validating the concept, they decided to team up to form idea! Communications Group, a customer-focused IT firm specializing in solving business technology problems.

David and Frank have worked with many clients, from hospitality to engineering firms to increase cybersecurity profiles, procure solutions within budget, and expand their clients’ footprint. They successfully procured and completed an internet connectivity project for a North American Farm Supply company for over 500 of their locations. With David and Frank’s expertise in complex project management, a global engineering firm gained comprehensive global WAN connectivity, data center services, managed SharePoint, and compute services to over 300 of their locations.
