Gemma Paterson's work experience starts in 2007 as an HR Administrator at Network Rail, where they provided administrative support to HR and Payroll managers. Gemma then worked as an HR Advisor at Houghton International, handling various HR duties such as disciplinary processes, policy queries, recruitment, and fleet management.

In 2010, Gemma joined HP Information Security as an HR Advisor, where they supported operational managers and provided an effective HR advisory service to approximately 450 employees. Their responsibilities included employee relations, TUPE, and HR system maintenance.

From 2012 to 2013, Gemma worked as a Regional HR Business Partner at Hewden, where they provided comprehensive HR business partnering services to multiple locations. Gemma focused on driving efficiencies through projects, coaching and mentoring managers, and managing day-to-day HR tasks.

Following that, they worked as an HR Manager at 99p Stores Ltd from 2013 to 2015, responsible for providing HR support to area and regional managers. Gemma also handled training, coaching, and various aspects of HR.

Gemma then joined Cannon Hygiene UK as a Regional HR Business Partner from 2015 to 2019. Reporting directly to the MD, they managed HR-related matters for approximately 700 employees across 19 sites nationwide.

In 2019, Gemma joined Synergy LMS as an Interim Group Senior HR Manager and later became the Interim Head of Group HR until 2021. Their roles involved overseeing HR functions and providing HR support to the organization.

From 2021 to 2022, they worked as the Head of HR at Movianto UK, responsible for HR operations and management.

Currently, Gemma works as the Head of People at Urb-it, starting in 2022.

Gemma Paterson obtained a Certificate in Personnel Practice from Trafford College between 2007 and 2008. Following that, they pursued a degree in CIPD Leadership and Management with a focus on HR at The University of Salford from 2009 to 2010.
