Claire McKay Bowen

Claire McKay Bowen is a Principal Research Associate at the Urban Institute, leading projects focused on synthetic data generation and data privacy in collaboration with the IRS and other governmental agencies. With a Ph.D. in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Notre Dame, Claire has previously held roles as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Los Alamos National Laboratory and Graduate Research Assistant at various institutions, where roles involved developing data privacy methods and statistical analysis. Claire has also contributed to academia as a lecturer and consultant for NSF Graduate Research Fellowship applications, advising multiple recipients. Claire’s educational background includes a Master’s degree and an Honors Bachelor's degree, emphasizing mathematics and physics.
