Hernán Mejía

Product Manager at Urban Radar

Hernán Mejía has worked in a variety of roles since 2013. Hernán began their career as an ITS Consultant for GSDPLUS, where they specialized in designing the service, operational, and institutional specifications for the procurement of Intelligent Transportation Systems for Latin American cities. Hernán was responsible for guaranteeing the compatibility of these systems with the transit operation, with an average budget of 100M USD. In 2019, they joined the American Public Transportation Association as a Mobility Policy Fellow. During this role, they developed a methodology to analyze transit competitiveness for all 392 Metropolitan Statistical Areas combining geospatial and transit data. Hernán also estimated the impact of the Federal Transit Administration CIG program in transit competitiveness, and used it to predict the outcomes and effectiveness of incoming investment projects for high- and mid-sized cities. The outcomes of the research were used to inform incoming investment policies at federal level. Currently, they work as a Product Manager for Urban Radar.

Hernán Mejía completed their Electronic Engineer degree from Universidad de Los Andes in 2012. Hernán then attended Stanford University, obtaining a MS Management Science and Engineering degree in 2020, as well as a Master of Public Policy degree in the same year.
