Danielle Emery has extensive experience working in the field of animal welfare and domestic violence support. In their role as Director of People and Animals Living Safely (PALS) at Urban Resource Institute, they managed the operations of the PALS program across eight domestic violence shelters. Danielle led a team and provided support and services to shelter residents with pets, as well as handled external referrals. At ASPCA, they served as the Manager of Animal Admissions and Foster Programs, overseeing the admission of animals to the Adoption Center and managing a team in the Admissions and Foster department. In their previous role at New York University's Center on Violence and Recovery, they managed programmatic aspects of research studies comparing interventions for domestic violence offenders, adapted materials for restorative justice practices, and presented on their research at conferences.
Danielle Emery holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management, which they obtained from New York University from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters at Tufts University from 2002 to 2006.
