Alan Duggan

Director of Energy Strategy at Urban Volt

Alan Duggan has over 18 years of professional experience in the energy and engineering industries. Alan began their career in 2002 as an Electrical Engineer at WYG Group. In 2006, Alan moved to Moran Electrical Services as an Electrical Design & Site Engineer, where they were the Project Manager for the Design and Build of the electrical element of a Wastewater Pre-Treatment plant. In 2007, Alan took on two roles, first as a Senior Engineer at Varming Consulting Engineers, where they managed projects with budgets of up to €20m, and then as a Senior Engineer at ADEC, where they provided National Energy Efficiency Action Plan training to public sector energy managers. In 2010, Alan joined Gaslink as a Market Affairs Analyst, representing the company at the European Network Transmission System Operator for Gas. Alan then moved to Bord Gais Energy in 2012 as a Key Account Manager, Industrial and Commercial, and won the Irish Sales Champion Awards - Champion Sales Team Business to Business in 2012. In 2013, Alan became a Project Manager at DCENR, where they were responsible for developing an Intergovernmental Agreement with the UK on the Export of Renewable Energy to the UK. In 2015, Alan took on the role of Director of Energy Strategy at UrbanVolt, providing e-LED retrofits to commercial customers on a Pay-as-you-save model. In 2018, Alan joined Taylor Architects as a Construction Manager.

Alan Duggan received their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Hons in Electrical Engineering from University College Dublin in 2002. Prior to that, they attended St. Muredach's College.
