Mark Castronova has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the energy and engineering industry. Mark currently holds the position of Head of Strategic Projects at Urenco USA since 2023.
Prior to this, Castronova worked at Tennessee Valley Authority from 2016 to 2023, where they served as the Principal Project Manager and later as the Senior Manager Project Management - CFAM. In these roles, they led project managers in implementing projects worth over $90 million, focusing on improving unit capacity and ensuring grid stability. Mark also developed long-range planning for the nuclear fleet's capital and O&M projects portfolios.
From 2015 to 2016, Castronova worked as the Director of Projects at Global Power Equipment Group, and from 2014 to 2015, they were the Director of Engineering at Nuclear Services, also a part of the Global Power Equipment Group.
Castronova had a significant tenure at Entergy Nuclear from 2009 to 2014, where they served as the Senior Manager, Site Projects & Maintenance Services. Mark was responsible for leading the project management and construction organization for O&M and capital projects, as well as developing and executing site asset management plans.
Prior to that, Castronova worked at GE-Hitachi as a Project Director from 2007 to 2009 and at Entergy Nuclear as a Supervisor, Engineering from 1999 to 2007.
Earlier in their career, Castronova held positions at Sargent & Lundy, LLC as a Senior Engineer from 1993 to 1999, at Maine Yankee Atomic Power Co as an Engineer from 1990 to 1993, and at General Dynamics Corp, Electric Boat Co as an Engineer from 1989 to 1990.
Overall, Castronova has demonstrated their expertise in project management, engineering, and strategic planning throughout their career in the energy and engineering industry.
Mark Castronova completed their Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering at Thames Valley State Technical College from 1984 to 1986. Mark then pursued their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maine from 1986 to 1989.
