Sophie Homans is an ORISE Research Participant with the U.S. EPA Office of Water at the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education since July 2020. Prior experience includes a role focused on sustainability at Sea Education Association from March 2020 to July 2020 and serving as a Geology Teaching Assistant at Carleton College between March 2018 and July 2020, where responsibilities included supporting paleobiology and geology classes, conducting office hours, and organizing study materials. Additionally, Sophie worked with the Adirondack Mountain Club as Loj Crew summer staff in 2018 and gained customer service experience as an Ice Cream Scooper at Ben and Jerry from June 2015 to December 2017. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology/Earth Science from Carleton College, earned in 2019.
