John Tonnison

Andrew Johnstone was named Interim General Counsel at US Foods in November 2022. 

He joined US Foods in 2018, serving as the company’s Associate General Counsel Litigation and Employment and has a track record of building high-performing teams and delivering with excellence.

Prior to joining the company, he worked for Sears Holdings Management Corp from 2013 - 2018 as head of litigation and employment and practiced law at Winston & Strawn LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP from 1998 - 2013, with a one-year break from 2002 - 2003 clerking for Judge Amy St. Eve during her first year on the bench in the Northern District of Illinois.

Andrew Johnstone

Bill Hancock is Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer. In this role, he is responsible for all warehousing, transportation, and supply chain strategy and operations, as well as safety, labor relations and continuous improvement.

Bill joined [US Foods](/org/us-foods) in 2020 from [American Tire Distributors](/org/american-tire-distributors-inc), where he served as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain Operations, responsible for the oversight of 115 distribution centers across the United States and a fleet of vehicles accountable for last-mile delivery to customers. Prior to joining [American Tire Distributors](/org/american-tire-distributors-inc), Bill served as the Vice President of Global Supply Chain Operations for Target Corporation where he spent 14 years in various supply chain roles with the company.

Bill earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Supply Chain Management and a Master of Business Administration from [St. Cloud State University](/org/st-cloud-state-university).

Bill Hancock

Guy Babbitt is Senior Vice President of Shared Business Services for [US Foods](/org/us-foods). In this role, he is responsible for leading teams focused on managing and optimizing key business processes for the company.

Guy joined [US Foods](/org/us-foods) in 2019 from [Food Services of America](/org/food-services-of-america) (FSA), where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. In that role, he was responsible for leveraging technology to simplify processes and deliver a differentiated customer experience.

Since beginning his foodservice career more than 25 years ago as a warehouse selector, Guy has served in a variety of leadership roles, including operations, sales, IT, strategy and finance.

David Works is currently the EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer at [US Foods](/org/us-foods). Prior to this, they served in the same capacity at [Hackensack Meridian Health](/org/hackensack-meridian-health) from June 2017 to February 2018.

Hackensack Meridian Health is a leading not-for-profit health care organization that is the most comprehensive and truly integrated health care network in New Jersey. They offer a complete range of medical services, innovative research, and life-enhancing care. The organization comprises 16 hospitals from Bergen to Ocean counties, which includes three academic medical centers. Additionally, the network has more than 160 patient care locations throughout the state which include ambulatory care centers, surgery centers, home health services, long-term care and assisted living communities, ambulance services, lifesaving air medical transportation, fitness and wellness centers, rehabilitation centers, and urgent care and after-hours centers. David was responsible for the team of 33,000 employees and 6,500 physicians as well as being a distinguished leader in health care philanthropy.

David Works has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the [University of Pennsylvania](/org/university-of-pennsylvania), a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the [University of Connecticut](/org/university-of-connecticut), and an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.

Jay Kvasnicka is Executive Vice President, Field Operations of [US Foods](/org/us-foods). He is responsible for field operations across the country, including all financial (P&L) results. He also leads the company’s cash and carry channel, which includes 80 CHEF’STORE locations. Jay previously served as Executive Vice President, Locally Managed Sales and also served as interim Chief Supply Chain Officer from October 2019 to February 2021.

Jay joined [US Foods](/org/us-foods) as a Territory Manager for Alliant Foodservice more than 25 years ago and has held a range of leadership roles with the company including Division President, Region President and Stock Yards President.

Jay received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing Management from [Concordia University](/org/concordia-university) in St. Paul.

Jay Kvasnicka

Dave Rickard is Executive Vice President, Strategy, Insights and Financial Planning for [US Foods](/org/us-foods). He is responsible for corporate strategy, including exploring new businesses opportunities. He also provides financial planning leadership and leads the insights and analytics team. Dave and his team optimize profitability across all segments by providing end-to-end oversight of margin and pricing decisions, partnering with Merchandising and Sales. Dave previously served as Executive Vice President, Revenue Management and Strategy.

Before joining [US Foods](/org/us-foods) in 2015, Dave served as Vice President for [Uline](/org/uline). Prior to that, he served as Partner and Managing Director for The Boston Consulting Group leading their B2B pricing practice. Over his 17-year tenure at BCG, Dave led many strategy, operations management and sales strategy engagements with Fortune 500 clients.

Dave received a Master of Business Administration from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from [Middlebury College](/org/middlebury-college) and a General Course Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics.

Dave Flitman joined US Foods as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the US Foods Board of Directors on Jan. 5, 2023.

Dave brings a wealth of global business leadership, executive management skills and extensive commercial distribution experience, along with significant expertise in operational excellence, supply chain, and general management with more than 35 years of experience in manufacturing and distribution across multiple industries, including food distribution. 

He has a proven track record of driving operational excellence, profitable growth, shareholder returns and a people-centric, high-performing culture.

Since April 2021, Dave served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Builders FirstSource, the largest U.S. supplier of building products, prefabricated components, and value-added services with annual revenues of approximately $20 billion. He also served as President and Chief Executive Officer at BMC Stock Holdings prior to the merger of the two companies.

From 2015 to 2018, Dave was President and Chief Executive Officer of Performance Foodservice, the largest segment of Performance Food Group, a U.S. foodservice distribution company.

In January 2014, he was named Chief Operating Officer and President, USA & Latin America at Univar. Starting in late 2012, Dave was Senior Executive Vice President at Nalco until it was acquired by Ecolab where he served as Executive Vice President and President, Water and Process Services. He joined Allegheny Power in February 2005, serving as Vice President Distribution and later as President of Allegheny Energy through July 2008.

Dave began his career at DuPont where he spent 20 years in various operational, commercial and global business leadership positions.

In addition to his previous experience as a director of Builders FirstSource and BMC Stock Holdings, Dave also has been a director since 2017 at Veritiv Corporation, a leading packaging distribution company, where he is currently a member of the Audit and Finance Committee and chair of the Compensation and Leadership Development Committee

He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University.

Dave Flitman

Mr. Dutkowsky has been our non-executive Chairman of the Board since February 2022 and a director since January 2017. He served as Executive Chairman of [Tech Data](/org/tech-data) Corporation, a technology distributor from 2018 to 2020 and as Chief Executive Officer of [Tech Data](/org/tech-data) from 2006 to 2018. Prior to joining [Tech Data](/org/tech-data), Mr. Dutkowsky served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the board of directors of Egenera, Inc., a software company, from 2004 until 2006, President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of J.D. Edwards & Co., Inc., a software company, from 2002 until 2004, and President, Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of the board of directors of GenRad, Inc., an electronic equipment manufacturer, from 2000 until 2002. He also served as both Executive Vice President, Markets and Channels from 1997 to 1999 and President, Data General in 1999, at EMC Corporation, a data storage manufacturer. He began his career at IBM, a technology company, where he served in several senior management positions. Mr. Dutkowsky serves on the board of directors of Pitney Bowes Inc., Raymond James Financial, Inc. and [The Hershey Company](/org/the-hershey-company).

Mr. Taylor has been a director since May 2020. He joined Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., a private equity firm, in 2005 and currently serves as a Partner and the Co-Head of Americas Private Equity, a member of the Investment Committee within its Americas Private Equity platform, and a member of the Next-Generation Technology Growth Investment Committee. Mr. Taylor has been involved with many investments at the firm, with a particular emphasis on the consumer and technology sectors. He currently sits on the board of directors of several privately-held companies including [1-800 Contacts](/org/1-800-contacts-inc), Bay Club, [BMC Software](/org/bmc-software), Fleet Farm and [The Bountiful Company](/org/natures-bounty). He also serves on the board of directors of Academy Sports and Outdoors, Inc. Nathaniel H. Taylor

Ms. Gottschalk is an accomplished executive with more than 25 years of experience in Consumer Products. She most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of The Pampered Chef Ltd., the premier direct seller of high-quality kitchen and entertaining products, from 2006 to 2013 and as President and Chief Operating Officer from 2003 to 2006. Prior to The Pampered Chef, Ms. Gottschalk served in a variety of senior roles at Kraft Foods, including as Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Investor Relations, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Post Cereal division, and Vice President of Marketing and Strategy of the Kraft Cheese Division. Ms. Gottschalk is currently a member of the boards of directors of [Reynolds Consumer Products](/org/reynolds-consumer-products-llc), Potbelly Sandwich Works, Big Lots, Inc. and privately-held United Laboratories, Inc., and was previously a strategic board advisor for privately-held Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. Ms. Gottschalk offers strong strategic, financial and governance acumen, informed by her prior executive and board experience, and qualifies as a financial expert.

David A. Toy, age 55, currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Heartisan Foods Inc., an omni-channel market leader in smoked, flavored, and kosher all-natural cheese, a position he has held since June 2021. Previously, Mr. Toy served in numerous positions for Sauer Brands, Inc. (“Sauer Brands”), a manufacturer of food products, including as Chief Customer Steward, from August 2020 to June 2021, and President of Foodservice, from August 2019 to August 2020. Mr. Toy served as Chief Financial Officer for Diversey Inc., a provider of cleaning and hygiene products, from September 2017 to June 2018. Prior to that, he held a variety of positions at Kraft Heinz Company (NASDAQ: KHC), one of the largest food and beverage companies in the world, including as President, US Foodservice, from 2015 to April 2017, Group Vice President, North America Foodservice, from 2013 to 2015, Vice President, SAP Implementation and Transformation, from 2011 to 2013, and Vice President, Finance and Group Chief Financial Officer of Foodservice, from 2008 to 2011. Mr. Toy served in a number of roles for Lexmark International, Inc., a manufacturer of laser printers and imaging products, including as Vice President Finance, SAP Implementation, from 2007 to 2008, Group Chief Financial Officer, Inkjet Printers and Supplies, from 2004 to 2007, Director Corporate Planning, from 2002 to 2004, and Senior Manager, Finance, from 1999 to 2003. Prior to that, Mr. Toy served in various multi-functional roles at Eastman Chemical Company (NYSE: EMN), a global specialty materials company, from 1991 to 1999. James J. Barber, Jr., age 61, is the former Chief Operating Officer of United Parcel Service, Inc. (“UPS”) (NYSE: UPS), one of the world’s largest package delivery companies, serving in this role from March 2018 to January 2020. Mr. Barber began his career as a package delivery driver for UPS. He then spent over thirty years at UPS holding roles of increasing responsibility including as President of UPS International, from May 2013 to February 2018, President of UPS Europe, from July 2011 to April 2013, District Manager, from January 2006 to July 2011, Region and District Controller, from June 1993 to December 2005, Accounting Manager, from January 1989 to May 1993, and Accounting Billing Supervisor, from June 1984 to December 1989. Mr. Barber previously served as a trustee for The UPS Foundation, and on the boards of [UNICEF](/org/unicef) and the Folks Center for International Business at the University of South Carolina. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from [Auburn University](/org/auburn-university).

Scott D. Ferguson, age 48, is the founder and managing partner of Sachem Head Capital Management LP, an investment management firm based in New York, which he started in 2012. Prior to starting Sachem Head Capital, Mr. Ferguson spent nine years as an investment professional at Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P., an investment advisory firm. Prior to that, Mr. Ferguson served as a Vice President at American Industrial Partners LLC, a private equity firm, from 1999 to 2001, and as a business analyst at [McKinsey & Company](/org/mckinsey-company), a management consulting firm, from 1996 to 1999. Mr. Ferguson has served on the boards of directors of Elanco Animal Health Incorporated (NYSE: ELAN), an animal healthcare company, since December 2020, and Olin Corporation (NYSE: OLN), a chemical products manufacturer and distributor, since February 2020, and previously served as a director of Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK), a design and engineering software company, from March 2016 to June 2017. Mr. Ferguson received his A.B. in Public Policy from [Stanford University](/org/stanford) and his M.B.A. from [Harvard Business School](/org/harvard-business-school).

Mr. Roach has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer at Mondelēz International, Inc. since 2020 and brings more than two decades of global supply chain leadership experience. Prior to Mondelēz, Mr. Roach served as the Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Supplier Management and Workplace Enterprise Services at Merck & Co., Inc. and as the Senior Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer at Bristol Myers Squibb. Mr. Roach served in positions of increasing responsibility, including those related to supply chain management, at Bausch & Lomb, Strong Health, Delphi Corporation and General Motors Corporation. Mr. Roach has deep expertise in supplier relationship management, sourcing strategies and material procurement, as well as governance experience gained as an independent director on the board of ARMADA Supply Chain Solutions, a leading provider of supply chain management services for the foodservice industry.

Ms. Ziegler has been a director since January 2018. She served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CDW Corporation, a leading provider of technology solutions, from 2008 through 2017. From 2005 until 2008, Ms. Ziegler served as Senior Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Sara Lee Food and Beverage, a division of Sara Lee Corporation, a global consumer goods company. From 2003 until 2005, she served as Chief Financial Officer of Sara Lee Bakery Group. From 2000 until 2003, she served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development of Sara Lee. Prior to joining Sara Lee, Ms. Ziegler was a corporate attorney at the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Ms. Ziegler also serves on the Boards of Directors of Hanesbrands Inc., Groupon, Inc., and Wolters Kluwer N.V. She also serves on the Board of Governors of the Smart Museum of Art of the University of Chicago.

Mr. Pforzheimer has been a director since January 2017. He is the founder of Barteca Holdings, LLC, a multi-location restaurant group, where he served as Chief Executive Officer from 1995 until August 2016. Mr. Pforzheimer served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Barteca from March 2012 until June 2018.

Mr. Carruthers has been a director since July 2016. He has served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of TricorBraun, Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of primary packaging solutions, since October 2017. He is also the principal and founder of CKAL Advisory Partners, which provides private equity advisory services in the distribution, eCommerce, and supply chain sectors. Mr. Carruthers previously served W.W. Grainger, Inc., an industrial supply company, as Senior Vice President and Group President, Americas from August 2013 to July 2015, President, Grainger U.S., from January 2012 to August 2013, President, Grainger International, from February 2009 through December 2011, and President, Acklands-Grainger, from October 2006 through January 2009. He was appointed a Senior Vice President of Grainger in 2007. Mr. Carruthers serves on the Board of Directors of Ryerson Holding Corporation, and previously served on the Board of Directors of Foundation Building Materials, Inc.

Mr. Tehle has been a director since July 2016. He retired in July 2015 as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of [Dollar General](/org/dollar-general) Corporation, a publicly-traded retailer, having served in that role since 2004. Prior to [Dollar General](/org/dollar-general), Mr. Tehle was Chief Financial Officer of Haggar Corporation from 1997 to 2004 and held finance positions at several companies, including Ryder System, Inc., a transportation and logistics company, and Texas Instruments Incorporated, a semiconductor design and manufacturing company. Prof. Gupta has been a director since March 2018. He joined [Harvard Business School](/org/harvard-business-school) (HBS) in 2006 as a Professor and was named the Edward W. Carter Professor of Business Administration in 2007. He has served as the Chair of the General Management Program for senior executives and Co-Chair of the Driving Digital Strategy executive program since 2013 and, prior to that, served as the Chair of the Marketing department from 2008 to 2013.
